Traditionally, refrigeration systems use plate or shell-and-tube heat exchangers, with circulating water rejecting heat via an open-loop cooling tower. An evaporative condenser simplifies this by integrating the intermediate heat exchanger, secondary pump, piping, and cooling tower into a single, efficient unit.
